This Role Requires a True Procurement Professional
TOC Logistics is seeking an experienced and driven Sourcing Specialist to join our Procurement team. This is a replacement role on a high-performing team of six, and we are looking for someone who can step in, build trust quickly, and deliver results. If you are detail-oriented, collaborative, and thrive in a customer-focused environment, we want to hear from you.
This is not a passive role. You will be managing competitive sourcing events, maintaining contract continuity, and acting as a trusted partner to business units across the organization. You will be expected to take ownership, follow through, and bring a flexible, team-first mindset to everything you do.
Candidates with backgrounds in utilities, 3PL, or service-oriented industries are especially encouraged to apply.
Role Purpose
Partner with business units to design, run, and close competitive sourcing and contract management activities that deliver best value on service, price, and terms — while following policy, governance, and data quality standards. Provide a high level of customer service in every interaction with business stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring responsiveness, clarity, and follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing Delivery
· Plan and execute end-to-end RFx events (RFI/RFQ/RFP): market research, vendor list development, event setup in Ariba, Q&A/clarifications, evaluations, award recommendations, and handover to contracting.
· Prepare and lead negotiations; document outcomes and finalize award packages.
Contract & Supplier Management
· Track contract expirations; lead timely renewals; ensure contract adherence and documentation quality.
· Coordinate contract reviews and support QBRs; surface risks and improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder Partnership
· Coach teams on procurement policy and process; address non-adherence constructively.
· Communicate clearly (verbal, written, and system-based) and align expectations early.
· Respond to internal inquiries promptly and with accuracy — be the reliable partner business units count on.
Data, Reporting & Compliance
· Maintain accurate Ariba/SAP data; raise data quality and close audit/governance findings.
· Publish monthly dashboards: Ariba spend, contract expirations, review status, and RFx throughput.
· Follow procurement policies and governance requirements consistently.
What Success Looks Like
0 to 3 Months
· Map current contracts, expirations, and renewal risks; prevent service interruptions.
· Learn procurement policies, RFx workflows, approval thresholds, and governance requirements.
· Gain access to SAP/Ariba/BI and validate data integrity, especially contract expiries and metadata.
· Build early working relationships with internal business units and key suppliers.
3 to 6 Months
· Run end-to-end competitive RFx (RFI/RFQ/RFP) with coaching; document evaluation logic and award rationale.
· Establish trust with assigned business units; agree on priorities, scorecards, and reporting cadence.
· Publish the first monthly KPI pack covering RFx pipeline, cycle time baseline, expirations, and review status.
6 to 12 Months
· Achieve approximately 4 competitive events per month in full compliance (adjusted for category complexity).
· Issue negotiation and award summaries within 5 business days of approval to proceed.
· Maintain accurate sourcing and contract data in SAP/Ariba; close identified data gaps.
· Support quarterly business reviews (QBRs) for designated supplier tiers.
Required Experience & Qualifications
· College diploma in Procurement Management or a related field preferred.
· Approximately 5 years of experience in sourcing and procurement, ideally in utilities, 3PL, or service-oriented industries.
· CPIM, PMAC, or equivalent certification is an asset.
· Valid driver’s license required.
· Demonstrated experience with SAP, Ariba (Sourcing & Contracts), BI dashboards, and Microsoft 365.
· Strong RFx execution, negotiation, and contract administration skills.
· Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills — verbal, written, and system-based.
· Collaborative, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and flexible in a team environment.
Candidates without demonstrated experience in sourcing or procurement will not be considered.
Work Environment
· Procurement team of 6 with a collaborative, low-drama, and feedback-friendly culture.
· Typically 3–4 concurrent RFx events managed simultaneously; cycle times tracked monthly.
· Systems-driven environment using SAP, Ariba, BI dashboards, and Microsoft 365.
· Regular KPI tracking and reporting expectations with a focus on data quality and compliance.
· Decisions grounded in data, policy, and customer impact.
Compensation & Benefits
· Salary range: $80,000 – $90,000
· 3 weeks vacation entitlement
· Comprehensive benefits package
· Paid time off including birthdays
· Cross-training and leadership development opportunities
· A collaborative, people-first culture where your voice and ideas matter
