Do you take pride in fixing things, keeping spaces looking their best, and creating a great experience for others? We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Attendant to join our team and help ensure our property remains safe, beautiful, and welcoming for every guest.
Working behind the scenes, you'll play an important role in maintaining guest rooms, restaurants, pool facilities, public areas, and outdoor spaces. From completing repairs and preventative maintenance to keeping our grounds pristine, you'll help deliver the exceptional standards our guests expect.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout guest rooms, restaurants, kitchens, pool facilities, and public areas.
- Complete assigned work orders efficiently and to a high standard.
- Conduct regular room inspections using detailed checklists to ensure guest rooms and facilities are operating properly and presented at their best.
- Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to quickly resolve maintenance concerns and enhance the overall guest experience.
- Support preventative maintenance programs to help keep our facilities running smoothly.
- Maintain the security and privacy of guest rooms and hotel areas while carrying out maintenance tasks.
- Keep indoor and outdoor areas safe and well maintained, including identifying and correcting potential hazards.
- Maintain the appearance of the property through litter picking, cigarette butt removal, and general cleaning of exterior areas.
- Assist with seasonal groundskeeping and basic landscaping duties to ensure our outdoor spaces remain clean, attractive, and inviting for guests.
- Perform snow and ice removal during winter months to maintain safe walkways and entrances.
- Operate tools and equipment safely and responsibly while following all health and safety procedures.
- Support additional projects and duties as required to meet operational and guest needs.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in general maintenance, building operations, facilities, or handyman-type work is preferred.
- Experience or a background in a skilled trade such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, or similar is considered an asset, but is not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs.
- A proactive individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards and paying attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Pool Operator's Certificate would be considered an asset.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or international equivalent) is required.
- Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
