Welcome! Banff Park Lodge Collection operates 3 hotel properties - Banff Park Lodge, Bow View Lodge, and Peaks Hotel & Suites. We also operate 2 restaurants - La Terrazza and Crave Mountain Grill. Banff Park Lodge consists of over 19,000sq ft of meeting space that requires catering concepts for a variety of groups and special events.

Primary Function:
- Maximize conference, event and catering revenue and profitability from guest rooms, function space, audio visual equipment, food and beverage
- Assist conveners and event planners with the planning and execution of their functions
- Providing assistance to the Sales Managers
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support and service general catering inquiries and group business.
- Work closely with the Sales Team to ensure contractual commitments are fulfilled and function space is maximized for hotel profitability.
- Service programs assigned and booked by the Sales Team.
- Coordinate conferences, weddings, events, and meeting groups; Including, create floor plans to maximize the use of event space, plan pre-event meetings with clients, receive all event requirements in a timely manner, and coordinate all details prior to arrival.
- Assist clients in meeting their event expectations, both conceptually and financially, while considering food costs, labour costs, and hotel operations.
- Organize and supervise assigned functions and guestroom blocks from the date of booking through departure.
- Conduct pre-conference meetings to ensure all key departments are fully informed of group requirements prior to arrival.
- Maintain knowledge of liquor licensing and fire safety laws and regulations.
- Utilize Opera and Opera OSEM to track accounts, solicit bookings, produce Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), monitor deposits, food and beverage guarantees, reservation cut-off dates, and other time-sensitive tasks.
- Prepare Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), obtain food and beverage guarantees, communicate changes in attendance to control food and labour costs, follow up with clients on the day of the function, and complete post-event reviews to identify areas for improvement.
- Establish and maintain positive business and industry relationships and participate in public relations activities to generate future sales leads.
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in hotel catering, additional experience in sales/hospitality required.
- Extensive knowledge of hotel and catering software – Opera/Oracle
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proven organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required
- Food and Beverage knowledge and proven ability to plan and execute events effectively along with a strong sense of detail and excellent customer service skills required
- Ability to work a flexible work week schedule depending upon work loads.
