Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic team in a busy restaurant environment. This role is essential in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring smooth meal preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, with experience in food handling and kitchen support tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced culinary setting and develop skills in food service and meal preparation.

Duties

Assist with basic food preparation and meal assembly to support kitchen staff
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to meet safety standards
Support the organization of ingredients, supplies, and stock within the kitchen
Help with serving food to customers when required, ensuring presentation standards are met
Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene compliance
Assist with waste disposal and cleaning schedules to uphold a sanitary work environment
Support the team during busy service periods by performing various kitchen support tasks as needed

Qualifications

Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or food industry preferred but not mandatory
Knowledge of cooking, meal preparation, and food handling practices
Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene protocols
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Willingness to learn new skills related to kitchen operations and food service
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting or moving supplies as required
