Overview

Join our compassionate team as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) / Health Support Worker (HSW) in Carleton Place, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals requiring personalized care. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to seniors and individuals with disabilities, fostering independence, dignity, and comfort. Duties

Deliver personalized patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Administer medications and monitor health conditions in accordance with care plans and protocols
Assist with meal preparation and feeding to ensure nutritional needs are met
Support clients with dementia or cognitive impairments through engaging activities and supervision
Perform light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
Collaborate with healthcare teams to document care activities, report changes in condition, and ensure seamless communication

Requirements

Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly valued
Strong background in patient care, senior care, hospice care or caregiving roles involving individuals with disabilities or dementia
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility or transfers
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to caregiving
Physical stamina to handle demanding tasks such as cleaning and assisting with mobility needs
Certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW), Health Support Worker (HSW), or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience can substitute
Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation is an asset for home visits
