Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Summer Student – Finance Assistant to join our finance team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in accounting and financial services to gain hands-on experience with industry-standard accounting software and financial processes. The role involves supporting various accounting functions, data entry, and account reconciliation tasks, contributing to the efficient operation of our finance department. The position is paid and ideal for students pursuing studies in finance, accounting, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Perform accurate data entry and maintain financial records and databases.
Assist with processing invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
Reconcile financial information and verify the accuracy of data.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Prepare spreadsheets, reports, and financial summaries using Microsoft Excel.
Organize and maintain electronic and paper filing systems.
Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes as required.
Respond to internal inquiries and provide administrative support to the Finance team.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience

Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting/filtering, and spreadsheet management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
