Your New Role
Based in Kamloops and reporting directly to the President, the Controller will provide financial leadership across a large and active real estate platform. This opportunity comes as part of a planned succession following the retirement of a long-tenured Controller, allowing for a comprehensive transition and knowledge transfer before assuming full responsibility for the role.
You will oversee the day-to-day accounting and finance operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and audit management. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will lead and mentor the accounting group while partnering closely with operational leaders across the business to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and the continued growth of the organization.
Beyond the traditional responsibilities of a Controller, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing evolution of the finance function. What Sets You Apart
You are a CPA with at least five years of progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally within property management, real estate, construction, or another asset-intensive industry. You have experience leading accounting teams, preparing complex financial reporting, managing audits, and developing financial controls and processes. Experience with Yardi and advanced Excel skills are highly desirable.
Equally important, you are a collaborative and approachable leader who enjoys mentoring others and building strong relationships across an organization. You bring sound judgement, strong technical accounting expertise, excellent communication skills, and a continuous improvement mindset. Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, you enjoy working in an entrepreneurial environment where you can contribute beyond the finance function.

The successful candidate can expect a competitive compensation package including a base salary of $125,000-$150,000, annual bonus, four weeks' vacation, comprehensive benefits, RRSP matching, relocation assistance (if required), and the opportunity to work alongside an experienced leadership team while gaining exposure to all aspects of a vertically integrated real estate business.
