POSITION SUMMARY: The Supervisor Transportation - ES - CANADA provides direct supervision and coordination of daily activities related to transportation programs and roles, such as drivers and/or transportation administrative support. Creates schedules and assigns routes to maximize efficiencies and enhance company profitability. Ensures compliance with transportation regulations and company policies and procedures. Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists team members in solving work problems. Selects, develops, and evaluates team members to ensure efficient operations.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides day to day supervision of CDL Drivers.
Plans schedules and routes to ensure maximum efficiencies.
Ensures the vehicle fleet is properly maintained.
Ensures compliance with Provincial, Federal, State and Local laws for Hazardous Material and Hazardous Waste shipments.
Monitors and assists with keeping operational costs at or below budget.
Ensures clear communication with internal operations, disposal facilities, and others in the normal course of transportation.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Knowledge of E-Log management and cross-border shipping procedures, coordinating carriers, customs documentation, and regulatory compliance for efficient Canada-U.S. freight operations
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of personnel management and operations.
Knowledgeable in Provincial, Federal, State, and Local regulations concerning transportation matters.
Knowledge of TDG, ECCC, EPA, and DOT regulations and of transportation principles and best practices. Work requires skill to investigate complaints, analyze information, and recommend resolutions; address difficult situations in a constructive manner; utilize computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The pay range for this position is $77,500.00 to $106,600.00* which reflects the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality in which you are hired.

Sustainability Innovation
Republic’s recent innovations to advance circularity and decarbonization demonstrate our unique ability to leverage sustainability as a platform for growth.
The Republic Services Polymer Center is the nation’s first integrated plastics recycling facility. These innovative sites process rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle-to-bottle circularity. We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We are building a network of Polymer Centers and Blue Polymer facilities across North America.
Our customers are increasingly looking for decarbonization solutions, and we are leveraging our network of landfills to meet that need. Republic is committed to harnessing landfill gas, a natural byproduct of decomposing waste, and converting it to energy. Republic has partnered with renewable gas developers to construct Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) plants at our landfills, expanding beyond the 77 projects we currently have to make progress towards our goal to beneficially reuse 50% more biogas by 2030 (2017 baseline year).
