OVERVIEW
On behalf of our client, a family-owned and operated machining and fabrication company that specializes in manual and CNC machining, custom fabrication, mobile line boring, studding and threading, equipment repair, refurbishment, and 24/7 mobile field service, are looking for a Manual Machinist/Operator to join their team.

Reporting to the Team Lead, the Manual Machinist/Operator is responsible for operating manual lathes and milling machines to manufacture, repair, interpreting drawings, producing quality parts to specification, performing equipment maintenance, and supporting safe, efficient shop operations while developing machining skills through hands-on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, tables, and work orders to determine machining operations and required specifications.
· Operate manual lathes, milling machines, drills, and other conventional machine tools to produce, modify, or repair precision components.
· Assist with machine setup as directed by experienced machinists and ensure tooling, materials, and workpieces are properly prepared before machining.
· Perform turning, milling, boring, drilling, tapping, threading, and other manual machining operations while maintaining dimensional accuracy.
· Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.
· Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance with specifications and quality standards.
· Maintain machinery and keep equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
· Analyze machining processes and troubleshoot minor issues to ensure efficient production.
· Maintain clear, honest, and professional communication with supervisors and coworkers.
· Follow all health, safety, and housekeeping procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
· Continuously learn and apply new machining techniques and industry best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Mechanical aptitude with an interest in machining and manufacturing.
· Previous experience operating manual machine tools is considered an asset but is not mandatory.
· Millwrights, mechanically inclined labourers, and recent machining graduates are encouraged to apply.
· Willingness to learn and develop toward a Machinist apprenticeship is considered a strong asset.
· Ability to read basic engineering drawings and use precision measuring tools.
· Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to producing quality work.
· Good communication skills, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
· Understanding of basic mathematics and measurement.
