INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

About the Role
This position involves contributing to the detailed design of electrical power distribution, controls, and instrumentation systems, as well as providing field and commissioning support. The role offers exposure to a broad range of project types including power generation, oil and gas, water and wastewater treatment, renewable energy, and industrial infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to deliver reliable, efficient, and sustainable electrical, instrumentation, and controls solutions that power Canada’s critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
Design and Analysis
- Develop and review electrical design packages including single-line diagrams, schematics, equipment layouts, and cable schedules.
- Perform load, voltage-drop, and short-circuit calculations and assist in protection coordination and arc-flash studies.
- Support the preparation of detailed design deliverables such as specifications, data sheets, and bills of materials.
Project Execution and Coordination
- Contribute to project execution from FEED through detailed design, supporting cost estimation, procurement, and construction deliverables.
- Coordinate electrical inputs with mechanical, civil, and process disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
- Participate in client and vendor meetings to define project requirements and resolve technical issues.
Field and Commissioning Support
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and start-up phases.
- Conduct site inspections and assist in preparing as-built documentation.
Quality and Safety
- Ensure designs comply with the Canadian Electrical Code, CSA, IEEE, and other relevant standards.
- Uphold Juno’s safety culture and commitment to engineering excellence.
Mentorship and Development
- Mentor junior engineers and designers, contributing to a collaborative learning environment.
- Engage in continuous professional development through training and internal workshops.

Qualifications
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in a Canadian province or eligible for transfer.
Experience
- 4+ years of experience in industrial or utility electrical design.
- Exposure to project stages including FEED, detailed design, and field support.
- Demonstrated capability in preparing design deliverables and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of low- and medium-voltage power distribution, motor control, lighting, and grounding systems.
- Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and power system tools (e.g., ETAP or SKM) is an asset.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Desirable Assets
- Experience with instrumentation or controls integration.
- Understanding of project management principles and cost estimation.
- Field experience or commissioning exposure in industrial environments.

This position is based in Calgary, Alberta, with flexible work arrangements available. Applicants must be able to work full-time in Canada and be available for occasional multi-day travel.
