Full job description

Foothills School Division is currently seeking a dedicated and organized Secretary to join the team at C. Ian McLaren School. Reporting to the Principal, this role is central to creating a safe, caring, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will provide a wide range of administrative and office support services that ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the school.

As the first point of contact for the school, the Secretary will interact with a diverse community and play a key role in supporting day-to-day activities. This position also involves collaboration with other departments across the Division, contributing to broader administrative initiatives.

Committed to supporting student wellbeing and safety.
Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive matters with discretion and empathy.
Strong organizational skills with a proactive, self-motivated approach to task completion.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high level of professionalism.

Education & Technical Skills

Post-secondary certificate in office administration or a combination of relevant training and experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, email, and web-based applications.
Experience with school division information systems is considered an asset.

This full-time position follows the 10-month school calendar for 35 hours per week Monday to Friday.
