Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipe Fitter / Plumber to join our team. This role involves installing piping systems in a mine setting The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools, and experience reading schematics and blueprints. Candidates should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Duties

Install, assemble, and repair piping systems according to specifications and schematics
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation
Use hand tools such as wrenches, pipe cutters, calipers, and other mechanical tools for precise work
Conduct routine maintenance on piping systems to ensure optimal performance
Measure materials accurately using calipers and basic math skills for proper fitting
Rigging and lifting heavy pipe sections or equipment safely during installation or repairs
Troubleshoot issues within piping systems and perform necessary repairs or adjustments
Maintain a clean work environment adhering to safety standards and protocols
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to deadlines

Experience

Journeyperson Pipe Fitter or Plumber certification
Ability to read mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately
Experience with rigging, schematics interpretation, and the use of hand tools required
Familiarity mining and other heavy industry projects is preferred
Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during installation
Prior experience working with calipers and other precision measuring tools is advantageous

This position requires a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous learning. Candidates must be capable of working in physically demanding environments while maintaining attention to detail.

Previous experience in the coal mining industry.
Mobile equipment maintenance background.
