TYCROP is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the Fraser Valley.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll lead complex engineering projects and guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-performance products. You’ll take ownership of the full product lifecycle, from concept development to commissioning, while driving strategic decisions, ensuring technical excellence, and fostering collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead engineering teams and provide technical direction throughout all phases of product development
- Project Management: Develop, execute, and monitor project plans, budgets, and timelines to meet organizational objectives
- Design Oversight: Review and approve CAD designs, calculations, and specifications; ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements
- Customer Engagement: Collaborate with clients to translate needs into cost-effective, innovative solutions
- Quality & Risk Management: Validate product performance, safety, and compliance; implement risk mitigation strategies
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with manufacturing, sales, and operations to ensure seamless product delivery and lifecycle support
- Mentorship: Coach and develop junior engineers, technologists, and technicians to build a high-performing team
- Continuous Improvement: Document best practices, lessons learned, and drive process optimization initiatives
- Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive product documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Specific Skills: Advanced project and resource management expertise
- Strong technical communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency in mechanical design principles, DFMA, and structural integrity analysis
- Ability to oversee prototyping, testing, and validation processes
- Strategic problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Solid project and resource management capabilities
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in BC, or eligible for such registration
- Minimum of 4 years as registered PEng.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience in product design
