The Role
We’re looking for a Lead Videographer to help lead and elevate the creative direction of our production team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident leading shoots, directing talent, mentoring creatives, and owning projects from concept through final delivery. You’ll play a key role in shaping the creative vision for client campaigns while helping refine the systems and workflows that support a growing production team.
You’ll work closely with leadership to maintain a high standard across our premium client roster and help push the overall quality, consistency, and creative direction of our content forward. This is a hands-on leadership role combining videography, editing, creative direction, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Leadership & Direction
- Lead the creative direction of video content across client accounts
- Help shape campaign concepts, visual style, storytelling, and brand tone
- Lead and direct video shoots for social and commercial content
- Guide clients and on-camera talent during interviews and shoots
- Make confident creative decisions on set and throughout post-production
- Help maintain and elevate the overall creative quality of deliverables
Production & Post-Production
- Capture high-quality footage for short-form and digital campaigns
- Edit content in DaVinci Resolve with strong attention to pacing, storytelling, sound, and visual quality
- Review and provide feedback on edits from team members and contractors
- Help improve consistency across production and post-production workflows
- Maintain organized project files and collaborative production systems
Team Development & Collaboration
- Support and mentor junior creatives, editors, and contractors
- Help build and refine SOPs and creative workflows as the company scales
- Collaborate with leadership on creative strategy, planning, and execution
- Contribute ideas during campaign planning, client discussions, and creative reviews
- Stay current with social media trends, platform changes, and evolving creative best practices
- Support creative pitches and proposals when needed
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in videography and video editing
- Experience leading shoots and owning projects from concept to delivery
- Strong creative direction and storytelling abilities
- Advanced proficiency in DaVinci Resolve
- Strong understanding of camera operation, lighting, and audio
- Drone operation experience
- Experience producing short-form social media content
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for shoots within the Lower Mainland
Nice to Have
- Experience leading or mentoring creative teams
- Experience managing a NAS system or similar data management system
- Experience working in agency or fast-paced production environments
- Familiarity with collaborative production workflows and shared media systems
