Quality Assurance / Control Technician
(Contract)

The primary role of the Quality Assurance / Quality Control Technician is to support the Food Safety and Quality Management System through routine quality assurance, laboratory testing, product verification, documentation control, and product release activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Supports food safety and quality systems by implementing procedures and enforcing GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements.
- Performs sampling, testing, and analysis (pH, Brix, temperature, weights).
- Conducts in-process checks and monitors CCP/OPRP requirements.
- Coordinates internal and external lab testing and maintains documentation.
- Reviews batch documentation and facilitates product release.
- Maintains records and supports SOP/document control.
- Supports GMP inspections and certification requirements.
- Performs lab housekeeping, sanitation, and inventory monitoring.
- Collaborates with Production, R&D, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Sanitation.
Supports investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills, Education and Experience Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Flexible to work shifts and weekends.
