Full job description

TYCROP is looking for a Welding QC Inspector to join our team in Chilliwack-Rosedale location.

Responsibilities:

Inspect welding and fabrication work according to approved drawings, WPS, codes, and client requirements.
Conduct visual inspection of weld joints before, during and after welding.
Monitor fit-up, alignment, joint preparation, and material traceability
Review and maintain welding records, inspection reports, and QC documentation
Coordinate Non-destructive testing (NDT) activities such as: RT (Radiographic Testing); UT (Ultrasonic Testing); MT (Magnetic Testing); PT (Penetrant Testing)
Ensure compliance with standards such as: ASME; AWS; ISO; CSA
Identify welding defects and recommend corrective actions
Witness hydrotests, pressure tests, and PWHT activities when required
Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

Diploma or Degree in Welding Inspection, Welding Technology, or related field
Certified Level 1 Welding Inspector preferred
Knowledge of welding processes: SMAW; GTAW/TIG; GMAW/MIG; FCAW; SAW
5+ years of experience in welding inspection/QC
Familiarity with welding codes and standards
Ability to read isometric drawings, and fabrication drawings
