Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Accounting Clerk to join our Administration Department to fill a replacement position. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. The successful candidate will assist with daily accounting tasks, support financial reporting, and serve as a key liaison within the department.
This role reports directly to the Director of Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general reception duties (phone handling, ordering office supplies)
- Record and maintain daily financial transactions
- Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including vendor payments and customer invoicing
- Reconcile AP/AR accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Process receipts for raw materials and packaging
- Reconcile bank statements and investigate variances
- Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting
- Maintain accurate and confidential filing systems
- Process employee expense reports in compliance with company policy
- Support month-end and year-end closings, as well as internal audits
- Post manual journal entries as required
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma (required)
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business Administration (preferred)
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar accounting or clerical role (preferred)
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with Sage 300 (preferred)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable, professional, and a collaborative team player
- Able to work independently and manage competing deadlines
- Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to team success
