Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, a strong understanding of food and beverage preparation, and experience working in the food industry. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, time management, and food safety are essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers while ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout their shift.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks using standard recipes and equipment such as POS systems.
Handle cash transactions accurately using POS and cashiering systems, including cash handling and basic math calculations.
Take customer orders efficiently, ensuring quick service times while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Food preparation and food handling tasks to support the overall operation of the establishment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
Restock supplies as needed and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
Engage with customers in a friendly manner, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns professionally.
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Skills

Previous Barista experience preferred, with knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage customization.
Familiarity with POS systems, for efficient order processing and cashiering.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse clientele.
Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods effectively without compromising quality or service speed.
Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and measuring ingredients accurately.
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and interact professionally with customers.

MUST HAVE FOOD SAFETY CERTIFICATE AND WHMIS

This position provides an engaging work environment where your enthusiasm for food service can shine while developing valuable skills in customer interaction, food preparation, and operational efficiency.

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
