The Opportunity

RVS is currently seeking applications for a continuing, part-time (17.5 hrs/week) Caretaker I position to provide routine cleaning duties at Elizabeth Barrett School starting immediately. Monday to Friday (Must be available to work the day shift supporting multiple sites as assigned).

Under the supervision of the Head Building Operator (HBO), the Caretaker I provides caretaking services at their assigned Rocky View Schools (RVS) facilities. The Caretaker I is responsible for keeping school buildings, grounds, contents, and furnishings in good appearance and in clean, tidy, sanitary condition, as assigned by their supervisor.

Elizabeth Barrett Elementary School is located in the City of Cochrane and serves students from grades K-4 and French Immersion students from grades K-4. For more information regarding this school, please visit their website at .

Responsibilities Include

Attention to detail related to varied and complex cleaning tasks

Ability to work independently and perform assigned tasks within a team environment
Demonstrated pride in workmanship
Performs building security checks as scheduled by the Head Building Operator

Keeps assigned sidewalks, steps, and entrances free from ice and snow

Education/Experience

Previous cleaning experience is considered an asset
Certifications from cleaning organization is considered an asset
Previous experience within a school division is considered an asset
An equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be considered

Knowledge/Skills

Working knowledge of proper cleaning procedure
Ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Effective use of Microsoft Office Suite and web-based application.
