Full job description

Reporting to the General Manager and Shift Supervisor, the Manufacturing Technologist will be responsible for providing technical support to the manufacturing team to assist in in the operation, programming, troubleshooting, and repair of our moulds, moulding machines, automation, robots, ERP system, and manufacturing processes. The individual in this role will be required to provide support to the supervisor in working towards the outlined goals and outputs of each shift.

Responsibilities include:

· Assist in executing the manufacturing plan.

· Troubleshooting and documenting mould issues and improvements.

· Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and correcting moulding machine problems.

· Implementing improvements to moulding machines, robots, automation, and auxiliary equipment.

· Implementing new data collection technologies to streamline business data collection and use including the use of analytics.

· Sourcing equipment.

· Participate in new launch activities.

· Participate in corrective action activities.

· Participating in injection moulding process studies and process development.

· Participating in continual improvement activities.

· Quality and process analysis.

· Other duties as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:

· Engineering Technologist diploma or equivalent experience.

· Knowledge of continual improvement tools such as 5S, Poke-yoke, process flow, and lean manufacturing.

· Previous experience working with Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems.

· General knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.

· Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and ladder logic.

· Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and drawings.

· Hands on skills with equipment, tools, etc.

· Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or with injection moulding would be an asset.

Working Conditions:

· Factory floor environment.

· Fast paced, time sensitive, goal oriented environment.

· Working around and with machinery, tools, inspection and poke yoke fixtures and equipment.

· Wearing of safety equipment such as safety shoes, earplugs, safety glasses, gloves as required.

· Overtime as required.
