Full job description

Position: Lounge Server/Bartender

Reports to: Director of Food & Beverage

ROLE

A server or bartender’s direct job is to take drink or food orders from customers at the bar, in the lounge, and on the gaming floor. Collect payments, process the sales, and maintain excellent customer service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Count your float at the beginning and end of the shift, as well as do a daily cash out of your sales.
Set up the bar at the beginning of the shift and break down and clean the bar on nights after closing.
Check all C02 cylinders, pop bibs, kegs, beer gas, sink and ice wells.
Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
Stock coolers and fill straws, prep garnishes and condiments, roll utensils.
Empty ashtrays on the gaming floor.
Collect all empties, plates and silverware as required and keep the area clean and free of garbage.
Serve the casino gaming floor, table games and lounge patrons.
Unload and put away clean dishes from the dishwasher.
Wipe down tables in the lounge; when necessary, place chairs on tables at night and take the chairs down in the morning before the casino opens.
Take apart guns, clean, and put back together; wipe down all bottles and close all products used during your shift.
Ensure proper stock rotation.
Maintain coffee and supplies on the gaming floor and in the lounge.
Knowledgeable about all promotions in the Lounge department.
Lock all coolers and liquor at the end of the shift, as well as cupboards.
Ensure that daily, monthly, and weekly cleaning lists are being completed.
Sweep and mop behind the bar, as well as in the back server hallway.
Take direction from management when called upon.
Ensure that all AGLC laws are followed.
Knowledgeable in cash transactions.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Server/Bartender requires the ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with Casino Dene guests, management, and staff. The incumbent in this position will primarily work with the lounge staff and the Lounge Supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Casino Dene is a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week, 364-day-a-year business. The server/bartender must be able to stand for extended periods and be on their feet for long periods. They may be required to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. The server/bartender will be working in a smoking facility.

Must obtain a criminal record check.
Adheres to all Casino Dene Policies and Procedures.
Consistently reports to work on time and is prepared to perform the duties of the position.
Acts as a role model within and outside of the Casino.
Maintains a positive and respectful attitude.
Communicates regularly with the direct supervisor about department issues.
Is flexible and willing to perform duties as the workload necessitates.

Compliance with all regulatory requirements as may apply to your position, including but not limited to both AGLC requirements and the Anti-Money Laundering requirements set out in the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and regulations, and policies made thereunder by Canada and FINTRAC.
