Full job description

Northern Lights Public Schools is located in the heart of Alberta’s Lakeland region, which offers residents a multitude of outdoor recreation opportunities and stunning displays of the Aurora Borealis. The division is focused on ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed and has designated numeracy and student mental health and wellness as division priorities.

Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position:

S2627-20 Executive Assistant - Bonnyville Division Office

This is a full-time (1.0 fte) position commencing as soon as possible. The assignment involves assisting two Associate Superintendents and Secretary Treasurer with complex and confidential administrative functions, organization, data management and analysis, effective communications and public relations.

Northern Lights Public Schools focuses on improving literacy and numeracy, engagement with stakeholders and the community, and the health and wellness of our students and staff.

Responsibilities will include:

Organizing meetings ensuring rooms, equipment, communication and agendas are prepared in advance of the meetings
Making arrangements for various functions and events
Maintaining calendars for members of the senior executive team
Composing necessary and requested correspondence for members of the senior executive team
Researching a variety of information for the purpose of providing information as requested

Training and skills that would be an asset include:

A diploma or degree in Office Administration or equivalent is preferred
Increasingly responsible administrative experience in a public agency
Excellent written communication skills, experience in Microsoft Office and Google environments
A valid Driver's License
