Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable 5-Ton P&D Driver to join our logistics team. This role involves the safe and efficient delivery of freight using a 5-ton truck, ensuring timely distribution across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance, contributing to the smooth operation of our transportation services.

Duties

Safely operate a 5-ton truck for pickup and delivery of freight to various locations.
Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs.
Assist with forklift operation for loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper handling of freight.
Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities.
Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse personnel to coordinate deliveries and pickups.

Experience

Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with a 5-ton truck or similar vehicle.
Skilled in forklift operation and freight handling procedures.
Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair is a plus.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific operational procedures. This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of our logistics operations, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and professionalism in freight delivery services.

Qualifications:

- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record (air brakes (Q) endorsement is an asset, but not required).

- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Familiarity with local routes and delivery areas is a plus.

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

- Reasonably physically fit and able to lift up to 100lbs.

- Ability to work early mornings.
