Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment for all guests. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages, handling food items, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Prior experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, cash handling, and customer service within a dynamic team environment.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages following established recipes and standards
Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide exceptional customer service
Handle food preparation tasks including assembling food items and maintaining food safety standards
Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including cleaning equipment and utensils regularly
Manage cash register transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations during shifts
Uphold a friendly and professional attitude to foster a positive guest experience

Requirements

Previous experience in food service or as a barista is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests
Knowledge of POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Food safety certification or knowledge of proper food handling practices is advantageous
Time management skills to ensure timely order preparation and service
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed
