We are seeking a skilled self driven Heavy Equipment Mechanic 421A or truck and coach 310T to join our maintenance team. Working on a wide variety of equipment construction, powerline gear, diggers, stringing equipment, bucket trucks and anything in between.
This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of industrial and construction equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety. The position requires proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, schematics, and welding.
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of are clients.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including inspections, lubrication, and part replacements
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
- Operate and test heavy equipment to ensure proper functioning after repairs
- Conduct welding and fabrication work as needed for repairs or modifications
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform repairs
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist in assembly and installation of new machinery or equipment upgrades
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents during maintenance activities
- Support customer service efforts by providing technical assistance when required
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or truck and coach.
- experience is preferred, especially with Caterpillar, John deer, kumatsu powertrax, Cummins, kenworth.
- Strong mechanical skills complemented by electrical troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately
- Skilled in welding, fabrication, and use of hand tools and power tools
- Experience with automotive repair is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interactions
