Position Overview:
North York Academy High School is seeking a culturally fluent, relationship-oriented, and performance-driven International Recruitment and Marketing Specialist (South Korea Focus) to lead recruitment and marketing efforts targeting Korean students, parents, and educational agencies. This role is pivotal in enhancing the school's presence in Korea, building strong partnerships, and increasing international student enrollment through strategic marketing, agency development, and culturally informed communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Branding (South Korea Market)
- Develop and execute customized marketing strategies tailored to Korean audiences across digital, print, and in-person channels.
- Coordinate the creation and translation of promotional materials (brochures, presentations, website content, etc.) into Korean.
- Oversee North York Academy’s Korean-language digital presence, including localized social media platforms (e.g., KakaoTalk, Naver Café, Instagram, etc.).
- Implement campaigns to raise brand awareness among Korean students, parents, and local education networks.
- Identify cultural trends and communication preferences in the Korean market to optimize messaging and engagement.
South Korean Student Recruitment and Agency & Partnership Development
- Lead student recruitment efforts by building relationships with prospective Korean students and families.
- Guide students and parents through the admissions process, including inquiries, applications, interviews, and enrollment confirmations.
- Host virtual and in-person info sessions in Korean, including webinars, parent Q&A, and pre-departure orientations.
- Establish and maintain productive partnerships with Korean education agencies, consultants, and high schools. Provide regular updates on program offerings and application procedures.
- Represent North York Academy at key events, expos, and partner visits in Korea and across East Asia.
Community Engagement & Support
- Assist with translation and communication between school staff and Korean-speaking parents and students.
- Collaborate with the admissions and administrative team to provide student arrival support and post-arrival services.
- Monitor student satisfaction, academic progress, and engagement to support retention and parental trust.
Performance Metrics
- Number of Korean student inquiries, applications, and confirmed enrollments per semester.
- Growth and quality of Korean agency partnerships.
- Engagement levels on Korean social media platforms and digital channels.
- Conversion rates from inquiry to enrollment for Korean applicants.
- Parent and student satisfaction with the admissions and onboarding experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience working with Korean agencies and high schools
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, international relations, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in international student recruitment or education marketing, preferably with a focus on Korea.
- Fluency in Korean and English (spoken and written); strong cross-cultural communication skills.
- Familiarity with Korean marketing platforms and communication tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Compensation & Contract Details
- Yearly salary base: $40,000 with high commission tied to confirmed enrollments.
