Where does the Quoting Assistant fit in?

As the Quoting Assistant you will be responsible for facilitating quoting activities, approving inputs, ensuring manufacturability, managing projects, and correcting documentation, quality and manufacturing issues. The ideal candidate should have a thorough knowledge and working background in Plastic Injection/Automotive manufacturing, component level technical understanding and have excellent customer service skills and supplier relations skills including negotiating and follow-up.

What you can expect as our next Quoting Assistant:

Receive and prepare RFQ (Request for Quote) based on customer requirements creating screen dumps of part with dimensions for visual reference
Download data from customer websites and file properly and discuss issues/concerns/requirements with customer
Keep quote log of all quote activity- organize quotes by customer within part specific folders
Obtain current pricing and any other pertinent information for materials selected specific to each part
Decide proper cavitation of tool based on annual requirements, part complexity and size
Send math data out to tool shops to quote molds as well as check fixtures
Prepare quote sheet in appropriate format to be submitted for management review & approval
Submit finalized quotes to customer using format and method requested (customer website, email etc.
Accept Purchase Orders (P.O) awarded from quotes, comparing all information on P.O to quote, ensuring all details are the same; including ensuring quoted parameters match actual P.O. Example: Cycle time, weight etc.
Support program launch and sourcing
Enter historical data information into database as required
Ensures compliance to IATF-16949 systems and procedures
Work with program management to explain cost to customer cost analysts when required
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Are you our next Quoting Assistant?

Post-secondary degree in Engineering or related field
2 to 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
Impeccable oral and written communication & presentation skills, with the ability to interface with management
Proficient with MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Proficient with CAD software (NX/CATIA/Solid works)
Strong relationship building skills (internal & external stakeholders)
Customer advocate- able to effectively communicate client needs to the organization simultaneously balancing organizational requirements
Proactive view to identifying & driving financial benefits for our clients
Proven successful launches of previous programs (on time & on budget) an asset
Ability to think & execute strategically and is results oriented
Self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi task as required
Experience in the Automotive Industry is an asset
