Position Overview
The Forming Operator is responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to produce metal components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role ensures accurate machine set-ups, maintains production efficiency, and supports a safe and organized work environment.

Afternoon: 3:30 pm – 11:45 pm
- Set up and operate brake press machines to shape and bend sheet metal to precise specifications.
- Loads and unloads forming machine with appropriate materials to facilitate forming requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine the correct machine settings, tooling, and sequence of operations.
- Select and install appropriate tooling for each job, ensuring proper alignment and calibration.
- Adjust machine settings (e.g., tonnage, stroke, and speed) to ensure accuracy and quality of bends.
- Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions, making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal performance.
- Inspect finished parts for quality, ensuring they meet customer specifications and industry standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and tools to ensure proper function and longevity.
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production counts, and material usage.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of jobs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage during the manufacturing process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any machine or material issues that may arise during the production process.
- Monitor part dimensions and ensure consistent quality using assigned measuring devices.
- Perform daily safety checks and maintain equipment in good working order.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift and materials carry packages up to 50 pounds.
- Skilled in inspecting tools and measuring part conformity.
- Must be able to use measuring equipment: vernier caliper, protractor, measuring tape – to ensure quality and product accuracy.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting customer dimensional prints.
- Solid understanding of machine operation and safety protocols – specifically with brake press machinery (Amada / Mitsubishi)
- Strong commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
- Effective time management and task prioritization skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication skills.
- 2-3 Years experience in Manufacturing environment preferred.
