Overview:
Webtree Academy is currently seeking a qualified and passionate High School Business Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year to teach Ontario secondary school business courses, preferably including Grade 11 and 12 Economics, Grade 12 International Business, and Grade 11 and 12 Financial Accounting.
Webtree Academy is a Ministry of Education-inspected private high school located at 60 Scarsdale Road, Unit 100, North York, ON M3B 2R7. This position may be offered as full-time, part-time, or contract, depending on the candidate’s availability and the school’s scheduling needs.
Preferred Teaching Subjects:
- Grade 11 and 12 Economics
- 12 International Business
- Grade 11 and 12 Financial Accounting
- AP Micro/Macro Economics
- Other Ontario high school business courses, as needed
Qualifications:
- Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) preferred, but candidates with strong teaching skills and relevant experience will also be considered
- Bachelor’s degree from a Canadian accredited university required
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience preferred, ideally at a Ministry-inspected private school or Ontario public school
- Experience teaching Grade 11 and/or Grade 12 Business Studies courses is strongly preferred
- Strong subject knowledge in business, economics, accounting, and international business
- Ability to deliver engaging, interactive, and student-centred lessons
- Responsible, professional, and passionate about teaching
- Able to support students with diverse educational backgrounds and learning abilities
- Excellent communication skills and a clear speaking voice
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude, with the ability to motivate and inspire students
Responsibilities:
- Teach Ontario Secondary School Business curriculum at a high level
- Prepare engaging lessons, assignments, assessments, and course materials
- Assess and identify students’ individual learning needs
- Assign and correct homework, projects, quizzes, tests, and exams
- Provide timely feedback to help students improve their academic performance
- Maintain frequent and effective communication with students, parents, and administration
- Evaluate and review student progress and discuss results with students and parents when needed
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress
- Support students in developing critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and business analysis skills
