Role Description
Goldrush Canada is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Compliance Paralegal to oversee and manage all aspects of the company's compliance programs. This position will be responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to all local, national, and international gaming regulations, laws, and industry standards. You will work closely with various departments to implement and enforce compliance policies, monitor regulatory changes, and provide guidance on legal and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of the gaming industry, regulatory requirements, and a proven track record in managing compliance programs. This individual should also be proactive, organized, and able to handle complex compliance issues with a keen attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret gaming regulations, laws, and industry standards, ensuring the company complies with all relevant legal requirements, including those related to licensing, responsible gaming, data protection, and anti-money laundering (AML).
- Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and regularly update compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with evolving regulations and best practices.
- Audit and Monitoring: Conduct regular audits and internal reviews to assess the company’s adherence to compliance policies. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Training & Compliance Awareness: Assist with preparing compliance training materials and employee education programs. Support employee awareness initiatives regarding regulatory requirements, company policies, confidentiality, and ethical standards. Maintain compliance training records and documentation.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit regular reports on compliance status, including any potential risks, findings, and resolutions, to senior management and relevant regulatory bodies as required.
- Risk Management: Identify compliance risks and work with internal teams to develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Provide advice and recommendations to senior management on risk management and compliance strategies.
- Licensing and Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators and licensing authorities. Assist in obtaining and renewing necessary licenses, ensuring full compliance with all jurisdictional requirements.
- Incident Management: Investigate and resolve any potential compliance violations or incidents, ensuring timely and appropriate actions are taken to address the issue.
- Industry & Regulatory Updates: Stay informed on changes to Ontario gaming regulations, compliance expectations, and industry trends.
Education
- Diploma or degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Compliance, or a related field.
- Ontario Paralegal License or formal paralegal training considered an asset.
- Compliance certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), or equivalent are considered an asset.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, compliance, regulatory, or risk management role.
- Experience within a regulated industry such as gaming, financial services, or technology is preferred.
- Experience supporting audits, regulatory submissions, legal documentation, or compliance programs is an asset.
- Understanding of Ontario regulatory requirements, gaming compliance principles, AML obligations, responsible gaming practices, privacy legislation, and regulatory reporting.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
