In Person, virtual (synchronous), and eLearn (asynchronous) teachers are responsible for delivering a total of 110 hours of instruction. Learning will be facilitated in person at one of four school sites, which include Father Michael McGivney CA (Markham), St. Jean de Brebeuf CHS (Woodbridge), St. Theresa of Lisieux CHS (Richmond Hill), and St. Maximilian Kolbe CHS (Aurora), as well as virtual (synchronous), and eLearn (asynchronous).
Effective Dates for In-Person/ Virtual: Hours:
July 6 – July 29, 2026 (18 days - Accelerated Courses) 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Teachers are expected to deliver curriculum via D2L

Teachers are expected to attend one training session

Teachers are expected to attend all staff meetings/PD opportunities

Virtual Teachers will be responsible for daily synchronous class from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. via Google Meet

Virtual Teachers should be available to students between 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. to provide students with the opportunity for additional support, instruction, tutorial or to ask questions

Virtual Teachers should be available to respond in a timely fashion to student emails daily between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Effective Dates for eLearn: Hours:
Session 1: June 29 - July 21, 2026 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Session 2: July 10 - July 31, 2026

eLearn Teachers will be online in a google meet daily for up to 3 hours as needed to provide students with the opportunity to drop in for additional support, instruction, tutorial or to ask questions

eLearn Teachers should be available to respond in a timely fashion to student emails daily between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Applicants will be assigned only 1 session of elearn

June 3, 2026

NOTE: Courses will be processed based on sufficient enrollment. If courses begin and the class size falls below 15 students, the class may collapse. Virtual and eLearn teachers must have daily access to the Internet.
Required Qualifications/Experience:

Intermediate and Senior Qualifications

Religious Education, Part 1 (or equivalent)

Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers

Applicable qualifications as per staffing guidelines
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Continuing Education seniority (first to OECTA permanent teachers, then OECTA certified occasional teachers, and then external candidates)
