Position: Pastry Chef

We are currently seeking experienced and passionate Pastry Chefs to join our client's team in Downtown Toronto. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in fast-paced environments and has a strong foundation in baking and pastry production.

We have fulltime and part time positions available.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Prepare, bake, and present a wide range of pastries including cakes, cookies, tarts, and fruit-based desserts
Create high-quality baked goods with consistency in taste, texture, and presentation
Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and production schedules
Decorate and finish pastries using various techniques (icing, glazing, plating, garnishing, etc.)
Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients, including fresh fruits and perishable items
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas
Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies as needed
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times
Work efficiently under pressure during large events and high-volume service
Collaborate with kitchen teams to meet event timelines and client expectations
Adapt to different kitchen environments across multiple venues in Ottawa and surrounding areas

Requirements:

1–2 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar baking role
Hands-on experience preparing a variety of baked goods including fruits, cookies, tarts, and other pastries
Valid Food Handler Certification (required)
Full-time availability, including evenings, weekends, and event-based schedules
Ability to travel and work at different locations across Ottawa and surrounding areas
Strong attention to detail and passion for quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and professional
