Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Field Mechanic to join our team, providing on-site maintenance and repair services for a variety of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs in diverse environments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in automotive repair, farm machinery, or industrial maintenance to apply their skills in a dynamic field setting.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair a wide range of heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, bucket trucks powerline equipment , pick ups , transports.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on industrial equipment to ensure optimal operation
Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues
Operate power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively during repairs
Conduct heavy lifting and assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery as needed
Maintain detailed service records and document repairs accurately
Respond promptly to field service calls to minimize downtime for clients
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies

Experience

Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or similar machinery
Dealership experience is highly desirable
Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or other major brands preferred
Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and schematics beneficial
Hands-on experience with welding, assembly, and maintenance of industrial or automotive equipment
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment safely
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
Experience working on farm machinery or other large-scale industrial equipment is a plus

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour

Education:

Secondary School (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

421a 310t or 4 year apprentice (preferred)

Work Location: On the road
