Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Custom Machine Builder for a direct hire opportunity in Scarborough, ON. This role is ideal for a skilled assembler with strong custom machine building experience, excellent blueprint reading ability, and a proven track record of producing high-quality mechanical assemblies within tight production timelines.

As a Custom Machine Builder , you will be responsible for assembling machinery, equipment, tooling, and mechanical sub-assemblies while working closely with supervisors, engineering, and shop team members. This is a strong opportunity to join a stable manufacturing environment where teamwork, precision, safety, and quality workmanship are valued. The role offers the chance to contribute directly to on-time customer delivery while working with experienced leadership and a collaborative production team.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble machinery, equipment, tooling, mechanical sub-assemblies, and main machine assemblies using blueprints, bills of material, travelers, and assembly drawings.
Operate hand tools, portable power tools, measuring tools, forklifts, and cranes to complete assembly work safely and accurately.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues during assembly using sound problem-solving techniques and communicate concerns to supervisors or engineering.
Inspect and test assemblies to ensure they meet drawing specifications, quality standards, and precise tolerance requirements.
Provide feedback to engineering regarding drawing changes or assembly improvements identified during the build process.
Maintain organized work areas, complete daily labor sheets accurately, meet production targets, and follow all health and safety procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

Direct hire opportunity.
Salary range: $47,840 to $49,920 per year.
Hourly rate: $23.00 to $24.00 per hour.
Location: Scarborough, ON.
