Job Summary
The Housekeeping / Occasional Team Lead Supervisor is responsible for supporting and overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Manager. The Housekeeping / Occasional Team Lead Supervisor is to ensure cleanliness, organization, and overall guest satisfaction. This role provides leadership and guidance to the housekeeping team, ensuring brand standards are consistently maintained while promoting a safe, efficient, and positive work environment.
This is a part-time position requiring flexibility to work both weekdays and weekends, including holidays and varying shifts based on business demands.
The Housekeeping / Occasional Team Lead Supervisor position is an operational leadership role that may require active participation in daily housekeeping functions. When not performing supervisory responsibilities, the Team Lead Supervisor is expected to assist with cleaning guest rooms, public areas, and supporting departmental operations as needed.
In the absence of the Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Manager, The Housekeeping / Occasional Team Lead Supervisor will assume responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of the housekeeping department. This includes coordinating staff, maintaining departmental standards, addressing operational concerns, ensuring guest satisfaction, and communicating departmental updates and needs with hotel leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and support housekeeping team members in daily operations
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and brand standards are consistently met
- Assign daily duties and assist with staff scheduling based on occupancy levels and operational requirements
- Train, coach, support, and motivate team members to maintain high performance and service standards
- Address guest requests and resolve housekeeping-related concerns promptly, professionally, and courteously
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and sanitation standards
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities; communicate replenishment needs as required
- Collaborate closely with Front Desk, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Assist with employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
- In the absence of the Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Manager, assume responsibility for the daily operation of the housekeeping department, ensuring departmental standards, staffing coordination, and guest service expectations are maintained
- Support the housekeeping department by cleaning guest rooms and/or public areas when operationally required
- Step in to perform housekeeping duties as needed to support team productivity and operational efficiency
- Assist in maintaining departmental organization, cleanliness, and adherence to hotel standards
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping experience required; supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as operationally required
- Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures
