Kasa Moto is a two-story contemporary Japanese restaurant and lounge that opened in the heart of Yorkville in the Spring of 2015. With a sprawling rooftop terrace, elevated design, and lush indoor topiary, Kasa Moto guests will enjoy a versatile dining experience that evolves from day to night.

Reporting to the Executive Culinary Leader, the Line Cook will be responsible for creating and executing various dishes to standard in a restaurant setting. Excellent hand-eye coordination and a wealth of culinary knowledge are required.

What You’ll Do

Create an environment that is warm, welcoming and filled with positivity for guests and employees
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Prepare station for service, complete mise en place and stock list
Prepare and cook dishes during service in a high-paced and detail-oriented kitchen
Prepare all assigned menu items in an efficient, consistent and timely manner
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Answer, report and follow the executive or sous chef’s instructions
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

What You’ll Need

1-2 years of line cook experience in a commercial kitchen environment for Japanese cuisine preferred
Completion of high school
Exude positivity and possess a welcoming and enthusiastic attitude
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently as well as within a team
Strong attention to detail
Have extensive knowledge on cooking temperatures and general food safety regulations
