Position: Insurance Recruiter / Talent Acquisition Specialist

Location: In-Person, 17817 Leslie Street, Unit 2, Newmarket, Ontario L3Y 8C6

Schedule: Full-Time

To support this expansion and maintain our high standards of excellence, we are seeking a motivated and results-driven Recruiter to join our team.

In this key role, you will be instrumental in building and nurturing a strong pipeline of talent to help power our continued success. You will combine proactive outreach with efficient candidate management to attract, engage, and onboard high-quality professionals who will contribute to OPAL’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Proactive Candidate Engagement & Recruitment
You will personally reach out to potential candidates who have applied to work at OPAL Financial Services. Through warm and professional phone calls, you will screen, qualify, and recruit individuals to join our growing team. This includes following up on inbound applications in a timely manner and converting interest into active candidates ready for the next stage of the hiring process.
Collaborative Team Support
Work closely with the OPAL leadership and recruitment team to drive activity, improve processes, and meet recruitment goals. You will participate in team meetings, share insights from the candidate market, and contribute ideas to streamline our recruitment workflow and enhance overall team performance.
Multi-Channel Sourcing
Actively source and attract talent using a variety of methods, including targeted phone outreach, Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other professional platforms and networks. You will build and maintain a robust candidate database, identify passive talent in the financial services and recruiting space, and ensure a steady flow of qualified applicants for current and future openings.
Virtual Candidate Screening & Interviews
Conduct initial phone screenings and in-depth interviews with candidates via Zoom. You will assess their experience, skills, career goals, and cultural fit, while clearly communicating OPAL’s values, opportunities, and expectations. You will prepare candidates for subsequent interviews and provide regular feedback to both candidates and the internal team.
