Analyst, E-Discovery & Forensics
We are looking for an outstanding Analyst to join our multidisciplinary team of creative and passionate individuals focused on innovative approaches to data and information in legal proceedings. The successful candidate will play a key function in the analysis of data, advise clients on eDiscovery strategies, as well as in support of broader corporate initiatives including collaboration with the project management team.

About You:
You are a team player with very strong advanced analytics experience, interest, drive, curiosity, and exceptional communication skills. You know how to rise above the data and explain the essential insights to lawyers and/or business users, and you instinctively minimize complexity to focus on results. While you rely on data to prove your point, you love to think outside the box and solve problems creatively while looking for ways to improve existing processes of data collection & information management. You can be analytical, consultative and client facing when needed.
You relish new and different types of projects, like to learn about new technologies and platforms, and enjoy exploring different ways to do things.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
E-Discovery & Forensics (80% - 85%)
- Collecting, validating, and analyzing data, and generating reports
- Processing and culling data (e.g., de-NISTing, de-duplicating, filtering, keyword searching)
- Loading, importing & exporting, QC-ing and troubleshooting data (e.g., exception handling, data corruption, etc.)
- Working closely with team members to troubleshoot data issues, research software and/or techniques to solve problems, and carry out complex data management tasks.
- Creating and setting up workspaces, database structures and permissions including converting data & images to client-specified formats
- Understanding client needs for forensic preservations, collections, and analysis, and being the liaison between our external forensic experts (contractors)and/or our clients
- Providing technical assistance to clients and end users
Project Management (15% -20%)
- Oversee all project phases, from data collection to reporting, meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations.
- Exploring and testing emerging legal technology, and working with the technology team to develop new software tools
- Understand the client’s needs to advise on eDiscovery strategies, manage deadlines, compliance and respond to requests and correspondence..
- Maintaining a competitive edge and staying informed and apprised of developments in the legal data management field
Essential Background, Skills, and Abilities:
- RCA (Relativity Certified Administrator) certification and experience with Relativity (RelativityOne) preferred
- 2+ years full-time in an e-discovery role which processes large quantities of data
- Computer Science background or university degree is an asset, in technical/quantitative field of study (for ex. Statistics, Advanced Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Decision Sciences, Computer Science, etc.)
- Proven ability to sift through data, identify critical information, develop hypotheses, perform rigorous analyses, and make recommendations to broader audiences
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to translate technical language into plain terms
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately
- Ability to sustain a level-headed and logical approach under pressure
- Strong team player to collaborate on projects and cover vacations as project manager as needed.
- Exceptional relationship management skills with an ability to connect and build relationships with firm members at all levels
- Attention to detail with an ability to proactively review
- Aptitude for technology and understanding of how databases work including technological innovation and data analysis
- Strong technical and analytical skillset (e.g., R, Python, SQL, Tableau, Predictive Analytics, Forecasting, Machine Learning etc.) would be an asset.
- Experience in the field of data engineering & analytics is ideal but not mandatory
