Manufacturing General Labourer

Location: Richmond Hill

Hours: Monday to Friday 5 am - 2:30 pm
1 afternoon shift rotation per month
Overtime available on Saturdays

This is a straight day shift (Monday to Friday) with one afternoon shift rotation per month. Professional development and training including increased pay rates for certifications (Overhead Crane, Forklift)

Here's what you will do:

Transport raw materials, castings and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
Verify weight of materials and products
Pick up castings from the conveyors and place them into buggies
Manually load/unload Shotblaster machines
Core knockout
Operate Pressure Tester unit
Operate Punch press machine
Sort, pack, crate and package castings
Assist machine operators and other workers when required
Ensure all Safety Rules and Regulations are followed at all times
Use utmost discretion in dealing with company and customers' confidential data
Meet production standards as specified in job order and/or ISO documents
Responsible for cleaning equipment and work station on a daily basis
Operate equipment in a safe manner, including to immediately report any equipment malfunctions
May perform other tasks as deemed appropriate

Here's what we're looking for and what you will need to succeed:

Solid oral and written English communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable and team-oriented
High regard for safety and adherence to following processes and procedures
Ability to follow appropriate departmental work instructions, including health and safety rules and procedures
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Overhead Crane Operator certified, or willing to be trained
3 years' experience operating forklift and a valid license
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good co-ordination and manual dexterity
Excellent attention to detail with ability to multi-task and highly organized
Ability to handle a heavy workload and work effectively with interruptions and changing priorities
Capable of standing for long periods of time
Familiar with basic Office applications - Word, Excel
Completion of high school. Completion of post-secondary education is an asset but not required.
Experience working in a foundry, casting or other heavy industrial environment is required.
Ability to complete a criminal background check is required.
