Maintenance & Winter Walk Team Member (Walk Behind Machine Provided); Various Positions Required
We are a family owned and operated Grounds Maintenance/Snow Removal business located in Hampton, ON. We take pride in providing year-round grounds maintenance property services to our clients including softscaping services. This position requires a very careful adherence to well-defined work where repeatable results are needed. It is vital for the work output to be very high quality, with correct results, time and time again. Checking and double-checking is often necessary; individuals performing the job must be patient and conscientious.
It is very clear what needs to be done, and what the expected results are. This clarity will come either from the company's management, or from established professional disciplines and processes. The established procedures and processes must be followed very closely; there is little room or necessity to modify them. Much of the work can be accomplished by working at a steady, even pace. There is much consistency and familiarity from one day to the next.
Job Description:
· Perform Spring & Fall property clean-ups on a variety of property types
· Perform Weekly Lawn and Garden bed maintenance care; lawn cutting, trimming, edging, weeding, pruning, etc as required
· Removal of debris from client properties using truck and trailer
· Perform snow removal services including shoveling of sidewalks, use of sidewalk machine wherever possible
· Perform de-icing services including applying salt(or other de-icing materials) on sidewalks by hand and/or using a sidewalk machine wherever possible
· Responsible in supporting Team Leader with truck/trailer/equipment safety checks daily
· Responsible in supporting Team Leader with refueling of equipment daily as required
· Responsible to comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures
Skills and Requirements:
· Experience in the field mowing lawns, looking after flower beds, etc. is an asset; willing to train
· Experience with snow removal (shovelling and salting applications) is an asset; willing to train
· Valid G driver's license is an asset; reliable transportation to our yard and or G2 is also acceptable
· Have their own transportation (yard not located near public transit)
· Knowledge/Expertise of lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers
· Reliable and Motivated
Working Conditions:
· Working outdoors in various weather conditions including heat, humidity, dust, mud, noise, wind, cold, snow, ice, freezing rain, etc.
· Working near or around heavy equipment from time to time
· Summer months are Monday – Friday with some Saturday work scheduled if weather delays occur during the week
· Winter Months applicants must be available on-call to work 24/7 meaning you may be called out at any time day or night as this position is weather dependent. You may be required to report to work within 1 hours’ notice although we try to give you as much notice as possible.
Compensation and Benefits:
· Wages starting at $20.00/Hour depending on experience
· Average 45 hours per week in the Summer.
