Your new role
As a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (421A), you’ll work across mine sites, field service, and shop environments supporting heavy mining equipment. Your primary focus will be mine site rotations on a 7x7 schedule, with opportunities to work both surface and underground depending on experience and certifications.You’ll be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining loaders, haul trucks, excavators, underground scoops, and related mining equipment. The role offers flexibility to rotate between environments and the opportunity to build long-term site familiarity with consistent customers.Initial onboarding begins in the shop, followed by assignment to site or field work based on operational needs and individual strengths.
What you'll need to succeed
- 421A Heavy Equipment Technician certification (Off Road Red Seal also considered)
- Previous experience working on heavy mining equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Comfort working independently in mine site and field environments
- Ability and willingness to rotate between shop, field, surface, and underground work
- Basic computer proficiency for daily work reports, time tracking, and parts documentation
- Mine site experience, underground exposure, or willingness to obtain NORCAT certification are strong assets
What you'll get in return
- Competitive hourly wages based on experience
- Shop: $47.00–$50.50/hr
- Field & mine site: $51.00–$55.00/hr
- Premiums including:
- $5.00/hr for underground or remote site work
- $3.00/hr night shift premium
- Additional premiums for select rotating schedules
- Overtime after 8 hours and automatic weekend OT
- 7x7 rotations with camp and meals provided
- Company-provided commuter arrangements for site travel (Timmins-based roles)
- Laptop provided for reporting and documentation
- Benefits after 3 months and RRSP with 3% employer match
- Relocation assistance available ($5,000–$10,000 depending on circumstances)
