About the opportunity:
Reporting to the DSD Operations Manager, the Logistics Supervisor oversees the dispatch functions and the third-party carriers. Monitor dairy product transportation to stores in accordance with company procedures and to meet the company KPIs'.
The attributes we are looking for:
- Monitor loads dispatched to drivers, supervise all routing modifications and equipment utilization. Supervise daily routes and schedule of shipments and deliveries.
- Planning of truck utilization and operations, monitor efficiencies in trailer saturation, utilization, reverse logistics, fuel consumption, repair & maintenance expense etc.
- Work with third party carriers to make sure drivers’ productivity reflect the hours worked.
- Planning in conjunction with Customer Service to meet customer needs.
- Communication and coordination with warehouses and suppliers
- Build and maintain positive work environment.
- Monitor all aspects of freight distribution and deliveries to customers under different transportation activities and reverse logistics.
- Measure, monitor and supervise third-party carriers and drivers’ tasks to ensure an optimal level of service to customers.
- Monitor carrier performance and assess service level, attend daily/weekly conference calls with all carriers to review their performance and discuss any issue related to drivers, customer deliveries, pick-ups, schedule changes, changes in business requirement, etc.
- Oversee inter-transfer shipment activities between Lactalis locations (Shuttle service)
- Maintain existing pool of fleet and monitor asset performance and utilization
- Liaise and collaborate internally with various stakeholders (route accounting, Customer service) to ensure a smooth operational logistics flow and implement an efficient and effective reverse logistics across DSD activities
- Continuously review and update logistics network activities to improve operational performance and to reduce cost
- Ensure accurate audits are performed and sign off is given for the Linehaul Carriers freight invoices. Accurate invoice audit and approval for third party carrier invoices through Invoicing portal.
- Monitor key performance indicators and cost factors impacting the operation
- Review and validate DSD transportation KPI and reports before submission to the management
- Maintain SOPs in place and update on a continuous basis depending on business requirement
- Ensure carriers compliance with the company policy and procedure regarding people safety and products quality
- Coordinate with management on executing action plan to resolve any issue on DSD activity as well as monitor the execution of these plans until the issue is fully resolved
- Participate in key transportation projects and support annual continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide front line support to management and escalate as needed
- Responsible for employee performance reviews and feedback.
What you will bring:
- College diploma, certificate or bachelor’s degree in Logistics operation or transportation field.
- At least 3 years of experience in logistics and transportation industry
- Demonstrate managerial and supervisor capabilities in developing strong coherent team
- Excellent decision-making skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely and effective manner
- Detail oriented & Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good computer knowledge and skills especially with Excel, Word, and SAP

Compensation:
As part of our commitment to fairness, trust, and transparency and our ambition to be an Employer of Choice, the base salary range for this position is $*_$78,600 – $98,300+.*_
Please note: Along with a comprehensive Total Rewards package, your actual base salary will be fair, competitive, and be based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
