Lead Ontario's Business Development Team
Wagonmaster Group is the exclusive Canadian distributor of BG Products and a trusted leader in the automotive aftermarket.
We're looking for an experienced Director of Business Development to lead our Ontario Business Development team following the retirement of a long-standing leader.
This is a hands-on Outside Sales leadership role. You'll spend several days each week in the field coaching Business Developers, conducting ride-alongs, supporting customer meetings, developing territories, and helping your team achieve sales goals.

What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- 5+ years leading quota-carrying outside B2B field sales representatives
- Regular experience conducting ride-alongs, field coaching, territory reviews, pipeline reviews, and performance coaching
- Experience leading geographically dispersed Outside Sales teams
- Experience recruiting, mentoring, and developing Business Development Representatives or Outside Sales Representatives
- Strong business development, territory management, and sales leadership experience
Automotive industry experience is strongly preferred, including:
- Automotive Aftermarket
- Automotive Maintenance Products
- Automotive Chemicals & Fluids
- Automotive Parts Distribution
- Heavy-Duty Truck
- Fleet Maintenance
- Commercial Vehicle
- Industrial Lubricants
- Industrial Distribution serving automotive or fleet customers
- Automotive OEM Field Sales
Please note: This role requires direct leadership of quota-carrying outside B2B field sales representatives. Experience limited to inside sales, retail sales, dealership operations, fixed operations, service management, parts management, customer service, or general management without leading outside field sales teams is not a match for this position.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Business Developers across Ontario
- Conduct regular ride-alongs and in-field coaching
- Drive accountability through KPIs, CRM discipline, and performance reviews
- Support territory growth and new business development
- Assist Business Developers with strategic customer opportunities
- Recruit, onboard, and develop new sales talent
- Forecast regional sales performance and report to executive leadership
- Build a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent leadership experience
- CRM experience (MS Dynamics, Salesforce, or similar)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable personal vehicle
- Valid passport with ability to travel to the United States
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
