About Us

Canada Trade Signs builds commercial signage for national retail, franchise, automotive, and construction clients across Ontario and beyond. We fabricate in-house: channel letters, illuminated sign boxes, pylons, ACM cladding, and custom architectural metalwork. Our shop runs CNC routing, welding, finishing, and assembly under one roof.

We're growing, and we're adding a fabricator who can carry real weight on the floor.

The Role

You'll report to our Production Manager and own fabrication work from cut list to finished product. Aluminum welding is the core of this job — most of what we build is aluminum, and we need someone who can lay clean, repeatable welds on sheet, extrusion, and tube.

What You'll Do

TIG and MIG welding on aluminum (primary), plus steel as required
Fabricate sign cabinets, channel letters, pylon structures, and mounting frames from shop drawings
Read and work from fabrication drawings, cut lists, and CAD-generated files
Cut, form, brake, punch, drill, and assemble aluminum, ACM, and sheet metal
Prep and finish work for paint or powder coat
Run or assist on CNC router, table saw, brake, and shear
Build mounting hardware, brackets, and structural backer frames
Perform in-process QC checks against drawings before handoff
Keep your station and the shop clean, organized, and safe

What You Need

3+ years hands-on aluminum welding in a fabrication, sign, or metal shop environment
Strong TIG on aluminum — this is non-negotiable; MIG aluminum a plus
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and dimensioned layouts
Comfortable with standard fab tools: brake, shear, grinder, band saw, drill press, rivet tools
Precision mindset — signage is a visible product and finish quality matters
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently once scoped
Legally entitled to work in Canada

Nice to Have

Sign industry experience (channel letters, cabinets, ACM, LED layouts)
CNC router operation (Multicam, AXYZ, or similar)
CWB welding tickets
Working at Heights, aerial lift, or forklift certification
Basic understanding of low-voltage LED wiring
Painting/finishing or spray booth experience
Valid G licence
