Shift: Afternoon 2pm to 11pm
Position Overview
The Saw Operator plays a critical role in the fabrication process by accurately cutting and preparing materials for production. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. The Saw Operator works closely with other departments to support efficient workflow and meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain strict material control to support company cost targets, including monitoring material usage, minimizing waste, and managing scrap levels.
- Measure and mark materials for cutting with a high degree of accuracy using tape measures, calipers, and other precision tools.
- Select appropriate saw blades and machine settings based on material type, thickness, and required cut specifications.
- Operate and maintain saw equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine inspections and maintenance as required.
- Assist with unloading, organizing, and storing raw materials and cut stock.
- Work collaboratively with fabrication, assembly, and finishing teams to support production flow.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Immediately report any equipment malfunctions, hazards, or safety concerns to supervisors.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Prior experience operating band saws or similar cutting equipment is a strong asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, cut lists, and specifications.
- Strong measuring skills and ability to work confidently in both imperial and metric units.
- Demonstrated manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistency.
- Proven ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
