Job Title: Patient Experience Specialist (Dual Reception & Clinical Technician)
Company: CLAYE Vision & Surgery
Location: Toronto area, Ontario
Position Type: Full-Time
About CLAYE Vision & Surgery
At Claye, we are redefining the patient journey by blending world-class clinical precision with unreasonable hospitality. We believe that exceptional care isn't just about advanced technology and surgical expertise—it is about how a patient feels from the moment they first connect with us. We go above and beyond the standard medical factory model to create an environment of deliberate care, warmth, and anticipation. We are looking for a dedicated, multi-faceted professional to join our team and act as the primary custodian of this elevated experience.
The Role
This is a unique, dual-responsibility role where thoughtful hospitality meets clinical excellence. As a Patient Experience Specialist, you will seamlessly bridge the front-of-house atmosphere and the clinical diagnostics team.
You will be the first point of contact, ensuring every patient is welcomed into a calm, premium environment, while also conducting essential, non-invasive diagnostic imaging and clinical preparation.
No prior medical or technical experience is necessary. We hire for attitude, empathy, and presence, and we will fully train you on all administrative and clinical systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Front-of-House & Unreasonable Hospitality (Reception)
- The First Impression: Welcome patients warmly, curate a premium lounge environment, and manage the daily flow with grace and poise.
- Patient Journey Management: Coordinate appointments, manage incoming inquiries (phone, email, and digital), and guide patients effortlessly through their administrative and scheduling needs.
- Administrative Operations: Manage daily essential paperwork, look after incoming and outgoing faxes, handle medical records requests, and maintain immaculate digital files.
- Anticipatory Service: Anticipate patient needs before they ask, ensuring a seamless, low-stress transition from arrival to clinical assessment and check-out.
- Team Coordination: Coordinate logistics and communication between our vision, surgery, and optical branches.
2. Clinical Support & Diagnostics (Technician)
- Patient Workups: Guide patients through the initial clinical steps, explaining measurements clearly to alleviate any anxiety.
- Advanced Diagnostics: Operate high-end ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic equipment (complete, step-by-step training will be provided).
- Clinical Flow: Ensure diagnostic rooms are meticulously prepared, sanitized, and stocked, maintaining an efficient but unhurried flow for the clinical team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our surgeons, clinicians, and optical team to ensure a cohesive, unified approach to each patient's care plan.
Who You Are
- Obsessed with Service: You have a background in hospitality, retail, customer service, or simply possess a natural desire to look after people in an "unreasonable" way.
- Zero Experience? No Problem: You don't need to be a seasoned ophthalmic technician or have worked in a medical clinic before. If you have the right attitude, a strong aptitude for technology, and a desire to learn, we will teach you everything you need to know.
- An Exceptional Communicator: You possess a warm, professional demeanor, excellent active listening skills, and the ability to explain things simply and reassuringly to a diverse community.
- Detail-Oriented: You take pride in precision—whether that means routing an urgent fax to the right file, ensuring a diagnostic scan is perfect, or keeping the workspace impeccably organized.
- A Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative environment where cross-functional support is the norm, and you are quick to lend a hand wherever it is needed.
Qualifications & Assets
- No experience necessary—comprehensive clinical and administrative training is fully provided.
- Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is a major asset to best serve our diverse community.
- Experience in hospitality, premium retail, or food and beverage is highly valued.
- Strong computer literacy and a high level of comfort learning new software and advanced medical hardware.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask gracefully.
