Primary Special Education Teacher
School Overview: Junior Academy
Established in 1988, Junior Academy has built a community around the families whose children attend our school. This community spirit is vital to ensuring all students feel they can achieve academic success. Junior Academy is intentionally a small school. Our community environment ensures every teacher knows each child and each child knows every teacher.
At Junior Academy, we strive to put a child’s strengths at the forefront of their education. We believe that students do well if they can, therefore we provide a supportive environment where students are accepted, appreciated, encouraged and challenged according to their individual strengths.
Our goal is to provide our students with the means to realize their full potential and celebrate the contributions of each student as they achieve individual success. Our focus on the Growth Mindset, Strength Based Education, the use of Self-Reg and Social Thinking are a few of the ways in which we achieve this goal.
Our teachers work together to ensure that all children-from gifted students to average learners to those needing more support-are taught in ways that enable them to succeed. This flexibility in determining what works best for each student is admired and appreciated by our parents.
