About the Role:

The Accounting Analyst supports core financial close, reporting, and control activities to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial information. This role plays a key part in month-end close processes, account reconciliations, system interfaces, and management reporting while ensuring compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, systems, and auditors, the role provides insightful analysis that supports business decision-making and drives continuous improvement. The successful candidate will contribute to process optimization, reporting enhancements, and team collaboration in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, controls, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and support month-end close activities, including:
-
Journal entries
-
Reporting system adjustments
-
System reconciliations
-
End-user financial reports
-
Prepare and maintain accurate monthly account reconciliations
-
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data interfaced between billing systems, reporting platforms, and ERP systems
-
Assist in maintaining, updating, and documenting Finance internal control policies and procedures
-
Liaise with internal and external auditors regarding SOX processes and sales-related controls
-
Ensure compliance with both key and non-key SOX controls
-
Provide timely and value-added analysis and management reporting to support business decision-making on both recurring and ad-hoc bases

Develop and implement enhanced reporting practices and standardized processes
-
Identify efficiencies and apply best practices across financial reporting activities
-
Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and related systems to drive efficiency and accuracy

Support team members through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and cross-training initiatives
-
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork
Qualifications:
Required:
-
University degree (Business or Accounting preferred)
-
3–4 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field
-
Strong collaborator with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
-
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
-
High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
-
Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities

Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to contribute to the development of others

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Advanced computer proficiency, particularly Microsoft Excel
Preferred:

Experience with financial systems and tools such as SAP, Oracle, EPBCS, and/or Power BI

Experience working within a large, complex organization

Prior experience in the Energy and/or Utility sectors
