The Home operates 166 beds, and is accredited through Accreditation Canada with an exemplary standing.

Nursing Summer Student - (RN or RPN) (Funded by Canada Summer jobs program)

Shifts: Comprised of different shifts including:

Weekdays 8:00 am – 4:00pm, 9:00am – 5:00pm, 10:00am – 6:00pm
Available to work every second weekend 9:00am – 5:00pm

Reporting to: Director of Care/ADOC

Start Date: June 2026

Rate: $17.60/hour

Core Functions:

Successful applicant will be accountable to the Director of Care and report to Assistant Director of Care
Successful applicant will assume the duties as outlined in the orientation.
The successful candidate must possess strong leadership skills, combined with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
The ability to interact well with residents, families, team members, and the multi-disciplinary team is essential.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Attended school as a full-time RN or RPN student during the preceding academic year; Intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year
Is a student in a post-secondary program
Evidence of good attendance
Copy of a current C.P R. Certificate – Basic Heart Saver, preferred but not mandatory
The ability to write and speak English fluently
Strong computer skills
A valid Vulnerable Sector Check for Employment completed by your local Police Department - No older than 6 months
Two-step TB test or chest x-ray - No older than 6 months *this has to be fill out within 14 days of hire*
Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the funded position.
Have a valid SIN
Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, and is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
International students, and those who are here in Canada on a work, youth, or visitor visa/permit are not eligible for the program.
