Upper Canada Child Care is recruiting for a Temporary Social Media Marketing Specialist to work at our Head Office in Markham, ON.
This is a full-time (35 hours/week) position.
This position is due to an existing vacancy and is for an 18 month duration.
Annual Salary: $48,472-$59,244 plus full-time benefit package (including dental, health and travel insurance), 10 paid personal days & paid vacation time.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Director Marketing and Communications in the promotion of the Upper Canada Child Care brand through the effective coordination and execution of the social media strategy. Upholds the organization’s mission, vision and values. This is a fully in-office position.
essential job functions:
- Develops, creates, publishes, and manages engaging content across the organization's social media and digital platforms.
- Captures and edits high-quality photos, videos, and multimedia content for use across various digital platforms, including repurposing long-form content into short-form social media content.
- Organizes and maintains the organization’s social media calendar to support marketing and organizational goals.
- Develops and implements social media and digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and audience.
- Coordinates social media advertising campaigns, including planning, execution, and performance monitoring.
- Ensures all digital content complies with organizational branding standards, privacy requirements, and other applicable legislation.
- Monitors industry trends, and digital marketing best practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Stays current on organizational news and events.
- Analyzes and reports on social media and digital marketing performance using key metrics, and provide recommendations to improve effectiveness.
- Collaborates with internal departments to align marketing efforts with business goals.
- May visit centres, special events, and field trip locations to capture content.
- Creates and designs digital and print marketing and branded materials targeting stakeholders and customers.
- Conducts research to support marketing initiatives, audience engagement strategies, and campaign development.
- Participates in departmental meetings, organizational initiatives, and special projects as assigned.
- Participates in Health and Safety initiatives as required.
- Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- One to two years of experience in managing social media accounts for business.
- Marketing or Business Communications diploma (or equivalency); specializing in Digital Marketing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Specialized and related experience may be considered in place of education.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with social media management and content creation tools, including video editing, graphic design, and analytics platforms, as well as Microsoft 365 applications.
- A portfolio demonstrating social media campaigns, digital content, and video projects is an asset.
- Access to reliable transportation for the purpose of collecting content.
